Mark McLaughlin
Mark McLaughlin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He lectures on tax subjects, is the co-author of ‘Ray & McLaughlin’s Practical IHT Planning’ (7th Edition), Tottel’s ‘Inheritance Tax’ Annual 2006-07 and 2007-08, is co-author and editor of Tottel’s Tax Planning’ Annual 2007-08, editor of ‘Tax Compliance Manual’ and Tottel’s ‘Core Tax Annuals’ series 2006-07 and 2007-08 among others. Mark has also written numerous articles for professional publications, including ‘Taxation’ and ‘Tax Journal’.
Since January 1998, Mark has been a consultant in his own tax practice, Mark McLaughlin Associates (www.markmclaughlin.co.uk) which provides tax consultancy and support services to professional firms throughout the UK, and now also to the member firms of The Corporate Finance Network.
He is actively involved in the ‘Working Together’ initiative between HM Revenue & Customs and the tax and accountancy professions, and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation’s Capital Gains Tax and Succession Taxes Sub-Committees.
Mark is also a Co-Founder, Director and Technical Editor of TaxationWeb Limited (www.taxationweb.co.uk), which provides free information and resources on UK taxes to taxpayers and professionals.
